This is my first Wood Jewel product. I purchased the Blue Knife as an everyday carry “in-town” sheath knife. I wanted a short, practical blade and something that didn’t look too “woodsy” nor the least bit threatening. Even here in Maine, where I am a Registered Maine Guide, we live in an ever increasing hoplophobic world. As stated, the wooden handle is eye-catching and attractive, it almost glows; much more so than the photo above. The sheath is also attractive and very well-made. And, as I always use a dangler loop, I like that feature. So far a very solid and lovely choice. My only two nits are the the leather sheath was quite tight at first; took a bit of stretching to loosen up some. And some of the work on the knife is a bit crude, as in a few rough spots on the ferrule and top of the blade. BUT... this is a hand-made product, and I actually think these minor flaws give it character. I will surely put worse into it in the coming years. Put another way, if one is buying this as a display knife, the best place to do so will be on one’s hip or in one’s hand.
