High Quality Craftsmanship

Knives of the North is co-owned by Constantine and Gwyneth, who are longtime members of the Society for Creative Anachronism, which is a worldwide organization dedicated to medieval reenactment. We reside in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc, Barony of the Rhydderich Hael, which is located in Western New York. Constantine, a Navy veteran, was quickly attracted to axe, knife, and spear throwing, and was very active in that community for many years. Having an artistic background and talent, Gwyneth made fast friends with the artisans and participated in re-creating medieval illuminated manuscripts. Through the friendships and cultural exposure of this wonderful group, we developed an appreciation for the fine craftsmanship and superior quality of Scandinavian knives, and decided to establish ourselves as importers to bring these products to the US.

We are proud to offer high-quality knives from smaller knifemakers with limited production, including Ahti, Strømeng, Roselli, and Wood Jewel, as well as larger manufacturers like Mora, Järvenpää, Laurin, and Marttiini.
