My grandmother, Susan Lizzy Jarvenpaa was born in Kauhava Finland in 1866. is it possible there is a connection??
Just received the 3447, can only say it is an awesome feeling knife. I have fairly large hands and was thinking of getting the large model but decided to get this one instead. Glad I did as this one fits my hand perfectly and balances right behind the finger guard exactly where your index finger sits in the handle. The knife is light weight, sharp from the factory, and fit and finish is perfect. Very impressed and I will be ordering this brand again.
Great service from the vendor, answered my emails about the knife in detail. I own several Iisakki Järvenpää knives, dating from the 60s up through early 2000s and now 2020. This knife is very light and nimble and the handle comfortably fits my large size hands. There is a gap between the blade and guard, but that is sometimes common with Nordic and Scandinavian knives -an epoxy or JB Weld will seal it up. Iisakki Järvenpää is probably my favorite Nordic knife company and I will buy more from Knives of The North.
