The Mora Eldris is a short, stubby knife which is perfect as a neck knife, with its small size and light weight. The blade profile would also do well as a detailed carving or scrimshaw knife. This version of the Eldris comes with a "kit" containing a length of paracord for neck carry, an additional (but removable if you don't want it) strap with a snap button for extra safety (although the knife click-locks into the sheath just fine on its own), and a length of fire steel. This is quite a nice, compact package!

I love the size of the knife as my hands are not big and I always find the larger ones a bit too big for me especially when I am filing a twig or cutting some wood pieces. The smaller size is easier to handle and manuever around something that I work on and it's still very strong like the regular size of Mora. Very pleased with my purchase. (^_^)*
I use mine for EDC applications. It's a smaller blade, strong enough (full tang) to handle camp chores and fire starting preps. The 90* spine makes for excellent contact on any given ferro rod, producing a lot of sparks.
This is a great little knife to have on hand. I keep it in my daypack. Its super lightweight and doesn't take up much room. I use it for dirty jobs like fishing and yard work, where I don't want to gunk up my pocket knife with fish guts, bait, or sap from trimming bushes. You just clean it off and put it away. The blade is sharp, strong, and cuts like a beast. Its not great for food prep, but works ok. It does handle most camp chores. I don't baton with my knives as I own a hatchet and a pack saw. I think the eldris is too short for batoning anyway, but if its all you have with, I guess you could make it work. This would be a good backpackers knife or a great secondary blade to preserve your primary. I bought the optional belt loop because I don't like neck knives. If I lost it, I would buy it again.
