I have used one of these French ball knives for a couple of decades. From Wyoming wilderness pack trips to day hikes and hunting, this knife has proven itself as sturdy, able to hold an edge, easy to sharpen as needed, and handy as a camp/hunting knife. Good for horseback, as it won't keep sticking your horse on the flanks, and it is as lightweight as a sturdy reliable blade can be. Handle fits my hand well also. Styling suitable for Rendevouz days as well, as I am a black powder shooter.
